EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival 2019
EPCOT has long offered fun at a different pace, a break from the lines and a chance to find new experiences and relax whilst discovering cultures from around the globe in one park. But for a few weeks each year EPCOT offers its visitors something extra special, the Food and Wine Festival.
The festival is held at EPCOT every autumn, this year it began on August 29th and runs to November 23rd. No extra ticket or admission price is required, just your usual entry pass.
So what does the Food and Wine Festival 2019 offer for visitors?
As you walk around the International Gateway side of the park, the area featuring various countries from around the world, you’ll find more than 30 global marketplaces, featuring regional food, wine, beer and spirits. The taster sized portions range in price from around $4 - $8, giving guests the opportunity to eat and drink their way around the world! Many of the items are available for a snack credit for guests on the Disney Dining Plan.
You’ll find African inspired Kenyan Coffee Barbecue Beef Tenderloin, perhaps with a South African Cederberg Chenin Blanc; Warm Raclette Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons and Baguette from Switzerland, alongside a Cave De La Côte Rosé; Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bushberry Shrimp with Pineapple and a Coopers Brewery Original Pale Ale from Australia; and a Moqueca: Seafood Stew alongside a Frozen Caipirinha from Brazil.
There’s the Cheese Studio, hosted by Boursin, with cheese cakes, souffles, and other delicious cheesy dishes, or perhaps the Chocolate Studio, with all kinds of delicious treats, such as Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey-Caramel or Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart with Whipped Cream (KA)
The festival also offers visits from celebrity chefs, and Disney World chefs, various food and drink demonstrations and seminars, and loads of live music, with the Eat to the Beat concert series.
It’s not all for the grown ups though, as always Disney wants the little ones to be looked after too. There’s a fun Family Playzone playground, the Disney Du Jour Dance Party, the chance to learn to roll sushi-inspired sweet treats, and Remy’s Ratatouille scavenger hunt with clues hidden throughout the park.
