Any Walt Disney World fan will be well aware that there’s been a huge expansion to Hollywood Studios recently, with the much-anticipated opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
We plan to have a closer look at everything this new land has to offer when the final ride, Rise of the Resistance, opens in December, but until then, since we love our food at All Ears, we thought it would be fun to see what intergalactic food and drink offerings are now available, both inside Galaxy’s Edge, and around the parks, to celebrate this fantastic new addition to the Walt Disney World family!
Oga’s Cantina
This new bar within Galaxy’s Edge is designed as the hangout spot for the locals, smugglers, bounty hunters and all weary travellers of Black Spire Outpost, Batuu, the fictional planet the new land is based on. If you’re lucky enough to land a reservation here, you can listen to the musical entertainment of droid DJ R-3X while enjoying a very unusual drink and maybe some nibbles. Those who enjoy alcohol might enjoy the Jedi Mind Trick , or maybe a Dagobah Slug Slinger, and for those who prefer their drinks a little softer, there’s the Blue Bantha, or maybe some Black Spire Brew. There’s also beer, wine and cider on tap.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
This casual, quick service restaurant is housed in a working hangar bay, and offers a variety of dishes from across the galaxy! Try the roasted Endorian Yip Yip Salad (chicken, mixed greens, roasted vegetables, quinoa and pumpkin seeds with a green curry dressing), or Smoked Kaadu Ribs (sticky pork ribs, blueberry corn muffin and slaw). And wash it down with a Moof Juice (orange and pineapple flavours) or a Sour Sarlacc (lime, raspberry and mango).
Kat Saka’s Kettle
Not a restaurant this time, but a food stall within Black Spire Outpost, serving special colourful popcorn!
Milk Stand
Another food stall, but this one serves Black Spire’s famous green and blue milk! Not actually dairy based, but rather a coconut and rice milk frozen drink, offered with or without alcohol.
Ronto Roasters
A quick service restaurant in the Black Spire marketplace, this is named after the large pack animals of Tatooine, and draws attention with its large podracing engine firing up a barbecue pit. The signature ronto wrap is actually a pita filled with roasted pork and sausage with peppercorn sauce and slaw. And try the Tatooine Sunset, an iced tea based drink with melon and blueberry flavours.
These are the main food service areas within Galaxys Edge, but that’s definitely not the whole story! Firstly, within the land be sure to look out for the Batuuan Coke and Sprite bottles! And if you’re lucky enough to be visiting soon, check out the limited edition offerings available at various locations throughout Walt Disney World. Some resort-based examples are the Chewbacca chocolate-hazelnut cupcake at Pop Century resort, the Dark Side Dessert at Yacht and Beach Club Resort, and the Yoda Cone at the Polynesian Village Resort. And Hollywood Studios itself has Stars Wars themed some of its favourite snacks too, such as Lightsaber Churros and the Resistance Funnel Cake.
All in all it’s Star Wars foodie heaven at Walt Disney World right now, enjoy!!
